Report from ISBE: Opportunity Knocks
Abstract
Because of the reform legislation of 1985, the next few years will be crucial years in education in Illinois. Every school district in the state must develop a Learning Assessment Plan for each of the six fundamental areasof learning asdefined by the reform legislation. The LearningAssess- ment Plan must consist of (1)a set of local learning objectives, (2) an objective testing system, (3) local expectations, and (4) a plan to inform the public of results. The development of these LearningAssessmentPlans will involve many hours of planning and hard work from local district personnel.
